Per Gummeson Dining room

Being closely furnished with several smaller sofa groups, Per Gummeson is the perfect place for private coversations and a nice cup of coffee or tea after dinner. It seats 60 guests and is very popular at weddings.

The artist Per Gummeson (1858 - 1928) was a frequent guest here at Röstånga Gästgivaregård. We've chosen to honor the area's great artist with this dining room. All paintings in Per Gumeson are painted by him.

Per Gummeson, a farmer's son from Österlen, might have been the most Scanian of all our Scanian painters. The provincial had deep impact on him and his art was truly Scanian. At the age of 24 he began to study at the academies in Stockholm and Copenhagen. In the end of the 19th century, he settled down in Röstånga. His intention was to stay for a couple of months, but he fell in love with the nature of Röstånga and stayed here for the rest of his life.

Represented at the National Museum in Stockholom, Göteborgs Museum of Art, Malmö Museum and Lund's Museum.
